Patrick Mahomes' Dad Arrested on DWI Charges Days Before The Super Bowl

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of star Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested in Texas on DWI charges.

This comes only seven days before the Super Bowl LVIII, which will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and feature the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was, however, released on a $10,000 bond, but records state this was his third DUI charge.

Like his son, Patrick Mahomes Sr. has had an impressive sports career as a former pitcher in the MLB.

DWI stands for Driving While Intoxicated and refers to driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

DWI is not to be mistaken for the more commonly seen term DUI, which refers to driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
